The staff of the department does profound developments upon Russian and foreign companies requests. Among those are the creation of multimedia and hypermedia systems, protected local computing systems, teaching programs including those for distant education, automated control systems, techniques and facilities for image sensing in artificial intelligence systems, and software tools.
The Department possesses excellent facilities for studies. Research work inclines students to take a post graduate course and there is a specialized Dissertation Board.

There is a lyceum of informatics and computer science technologies “Megatech” which is a part of the faculty. After graduation from the lyceum the students get the high school diplomas. The starting grade for students in this lyceum is the 10th grade.
