The online format of the conference made it possible to connect a large number of researchers from almost all federal districts of Russia, as well as scientists from India, China and South Africa. Professor Eldar Kurbanov, on behalf of Volgatech, presented at the conference on the environmental monitoring and assessment of land use/ land cover change impact on ecological safety using geospatial technologies in the framework of project GEMOECO (BRICS RFBR). The project was carried out with the participation of Yunnan University (China), Fujian Normal University (China), and the Council of Geosciences of Pretoria (South Africa).
“This conference is an excellent opportunity to discuss issues that unite the BRICS countries, such as common goals and innovative approaches to addressing various issues. India assumed the presidency of the G20 forum this year. We conducted a discussion about scientific and technical advancements just last week. And this meeting was another step toward reviving discussions and solutions to these issues”, stated Kumar Gaurav, the Consul General of India in St. Petersburg.
